Managing Partners

Ali Riza Alaboyun

Managing Partner, CEO

Ali Riza Alaboyun is one of NewBridge’s managing partners. He is responsible for services regarding energy, natural resources, industry, economy, security and defense.

Prior to NewBridge, he was appointed as Minister and Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources while he was a member of Turkish Parliament from the Aksaray province between 2002 and 2015. At Parliament, he held various positions including deputy chairman of the Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee, member of the Turkish Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Delegation, and member and chairman of the Turkish Parliamentary Assembly of NATO. He also served as president of the Turkey-Belgium Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Groups.

Ali Riza Alaboyun graduated from the Faculty of Mining at Istanbul Technical University in 1980. He earned his master’s degree (1989) on mineral processing and engineering management at Pennsylvania State University in the USA. Upon graduation. He held technical positions at the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA) and the General Directorate of Mining Affairs. He has served as deputy general director and board member of ETIBANK, board member of ETIMINA SA, board member of the Turkish Atomic Energy Authority and General Director of AFS Pipe Industry Inc. Corporation.

Alaboyun has been a member of the Turkish Parliamentary Association since 2002.

Nevzat Pakdil

Managing Partner, Vice-CEO

Nevzat Pakdil is the Vice-CEO and Managing Partner of NewBridge, responsible for services regarding the presidency, local governments and NGOs.

Prior to NewBridge, Nevzat Pakdil was a member of Parliament from Turkey’s Kahramanmaras province between 2002 and 2015. At Parliament, he served as Vice-Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT). Pakdil has also chaired parliament’s Culture, Art, and Publication Board, and has served as a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TURKPA).

Nevzat Pakdil held several high-level managerial positions prior to his political career. He has served as General Director of Istanbul Electricity, Tramway and Tunnel General Management (IETT) at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, General Director of Personnel and Principles at the Turkish Prime Ministry, Chief Advisor to the Turkish Prime Minister, General Director of Teacher Training and General Director of Personnel at Turkish National Ministry of Education.

Nevzat Pakdil specializes in education and public management. He graduated from Business Administration at the Ankara Economic and Commercial Sciences Academy (AITIA). He also holds a degree from the Ankara University Faculty of Divinity. Pakdil completed his Master’s Degree in Public Management at the Institute of Public Administration for Turkey and Middle East in Ankara.

Nevzat Pakdil has been a member of the Turkish Parliamentary Association (TPB) since holding its presidency since 2012.

Mehmet Erdogan

Managing Partner, Board Member

Mehmet Erdogan is a founding member and managing partner of NewBridge. He is responsible for services regarding the health, agriculture, food, forest, environment, tourism, transport and construction.

Prior to NewBridge, he was a representative of the province of Adiyaman at the Turkish Parliament between 2007 and 2015. At Parliament, he held various positions including deputy chairman of the Committee of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs. He also served as the president of the Turkey-Jordan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group and member of the Turkey-Palestine Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Earlier on in his professional career, Mehmet Erdogan worked as a self-employed veterinarian upon completing his Bachelor’s education in Istanbul University, Veterinary Faculty. He also took several important responsibilities within political parties and has actively served in many NGOs.

Mehmet Erdogan has been a member of the Turkish Parliamentary Association since 2007.

Prof. Dr. Yuksel Ozden

Managing Partner

Prof. Dr. Yuksel Ozden is a board member as well as founding and managing partner at NewBridge, responsible for services regarding education, culture, family, social services and foreign affairs.

Prior to NewBridge, he was a member of the Turkish Parliament from Mugla province between 2007 and 2015. At Parliament, he held various positions, including that of chairman of the Turkish Asian Parliamentary Assembly and spokesman of the National Education Committee. He also held membership of the Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee, EU Harmonization Committee, Turkish Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Delegation and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

Yuksel Ozden graduated from the Faculty of Educational Sciences at Ankara University in 1986. He earned his master’s degree at Wisconsin University Madison, USA, where he also completed his PhD in 1993. He later actively worked at the Center of Remodeling in Education as a postdoctoral researcher. Returning to Turkey at the end of 1994, Ozden held various university positions before becoming a full professor in 2003. After working at Kirikkale University (1995-2001) and Balikesir University (2001-2006), he became the Head of the Department of the Continuing Education Center and later the Dean of Education at Balikesir Necatibey. Between 2006 and 2007 he served in the Ministry of National Education as General Director of Primary Education. He was a senior advisor at TED (Turkish Education Association) University in Ankara between 2016 and 2017. Ozden is now Vice President of the University of Ibn Haldun in Istanbul.

Prof. Ozden has been a member of the Turkish Parliamentary Association since 2007.

Atty. Zeynep Nur Karacetin

Managing Partner at Istanbul Office

Zeynep Nur Karaçetin is a legal professional with a demonstrated history of experience as an inhouse counsel for various sectors within private initiatives. Leaving her most recent position as a VP to the company, she started her own practice and joined NewBridge as a facilitator of legal and governmental affairs.

Mrs. Karaçetin graduated from Istanbul University’s School of Law in 2008 and and continued her postgraduate education in Istanbul Bilgi University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Humay Gobel

Executive Assistant

Joining NewBridge in 2017, Humay Gobel graduated from the department of International Relations at the Faculty of Political Science at Ankara University in 2013. During her university education, she served in internship roles at the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Istanbul Stock Exchange, and the Undersecretariat of the Treasury of Turkey. During these years, she worked for insurance company ParkBroker. After graduation, she held administrative positions at Eskale between 2013 and 2014.

Her responsibilities at NewBridge include client representation; assistantship for managers, partners and consultants, scheduling, office budget management, research support and minute-taking.

Emine Mergen

Officer

Emine Mergen joined the NewBridge team in 2017. She is responsible for secretarial roles as well as general office space management.
